Wartrace Fire Department Issues Statement on Vehicle Versus Train Fatality

By Katie Northcott, News Director

On Monday, Feb. 23, the Wartrace Fire Department posted the following statement to Facebook:

From Chief Dye. At approximately 11:24 pm Sunday, we were dispatched to a vehicle versus a train. Upon arrival, no vehicle was located, but signs of impact were found. After further investigation, we located the vehicle at the front of the train, approximately a mile away from the impact. UTVs had to be utilized to reach the scene. The vehicle contained 1 person, and that person was deceased. This is an active investigation by THP and CSX. Please lift the family up in prayer. No vehicle description or the name of the person will be given out of respect for the family.
