Horse Play, Inc. is looking for reputable sources for finding quality lesson horses in Middle TN. These horses need to be well mannered, well desensitized, and sound. They need to be accustomed to the particulars of therapeutic riding . Horseplay would love to work regularly with a facility to bring in horses as needed. They can purchase, do a paid lease or a care lease. Horseplay specifically needs geldings in the 13-15 hand range.
Emily Placido, Volunteer Coordinator with Horse Play, Inc., was recently a guest on Thunder Radio’s interview show, “Connecting Coffee County”. Emily spoke about how the 501c3 organization has the need for lesson horses as well as volunteers. Find that interview HERE
Horse Play, Inc. started with a vision and a dream. Local community members who had experience working with a similar program in Nashville saw a need for starting a rehabilitative riding program in our area. After long hours of research and brainstorming, in 1997, the dream became a reality. Starting with 4 children and borrowed horses, the pilot program began. They now serve 50 plus children, own 2 horses and lease 6 others, and have over 70 community volunteers. Their facility today sits on 17 acres in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and includes a covered riding arena with an eight stall stable and a tack shed. They also have a sensory trail, five turnout pastures, bathroom facilities and an administration building.
