“Being selected as the Tennessee Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame Band is the musical equivalent of winning a state championship in athletics,” said Justin Scott, THS Director of Bands. “Just as state champions represent the highest level of competitive achievement in their sport, the Hall of Fame Band designation recognizes one of Tennessee’s finest concert band programs. This honor reflects years of dedication, disciplined preparation, outstanding performance and a sustained commitment to excellence. We look forward to proudly representing Tullahoma and sharing our music with audiences from across Tennessee at the 2027 Tennessee Music Education Conference.”

The THS Symphonic Band was invited to perform at the TMEA Conference after a highly competitive audition process in which outstanding ensembles from across the state submit recordings for evaluation. Only a select few groups are chosen to perform for music educators, students, parents and guests from throughout Tennessee. The 2027 invitation marks the Tullahoma High School Symphonic Band’s fourth appearance in the TMEA conference since 1989.

The Tennessee Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame Concert will be held during the Tennessee Music Education Association State Conference. This concert celebrates excellence in music education and honors distinguished band directors and educators from across Tennessee.

“This recognition reflects countless hours of rehearsal, individual practice, group preparation and dedication by students, directors and families alike,” said TCS Director of Schools Dr. Catherine Stephens. “It also continues a tradition of musical excellence that has become a hallmark of Tullahoma High School. Please join me in congratulating the students, directors and families who made this astounding achievement possible.”
