The Shelbyville-Bedford Community Foundation (SBCF) donated $20,500 toward teacher grants for the 2025-2026 school year.
The donation comes as part of SBCF’s mission to support initiatives that enhance education and quality of life and its aim to reduce the financial burden of Bedford County teachers. The money will fund 18 projects across nine schools.
“We are truly grateful for this investment in our educators and students–made possible through funds raised in the 2025 Connected Community 5k,” the Bedford County School District said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 30.
The 5k was held in May to help raise money for the 16 schools in the Bedford County School District.
