With Christmas fast approaching several important dates are coming up for those looking to make a child’s holiday season brighter.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO)
The FCSO is asking for toy donations at its Trailer of Treasures Toy Drive on Saturday, Nov. 22. The toy drive will take place at the Walmart parking lot at 2675 Decherd Blvd in Winchester. The FCSO asks that toy donations be new and unwrapped.
Tullahoma Fire Department (TFD)
Signups for the TFD Toy Drive are on Dec. 5-6 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on both days. Signups will be held at the D.W. Wilson Community Center (501 N. Collins St.). Children from ages infant to 14-years-old are eligible to benefit from the drive. Each child’s birth certificate must be presented at signups along with the last five digits of the parent or guardian’s social security number.
TFD will accept toy donations from Dec. 1 until Dec. 15 and will accept cash donations any time. Bring donations to Fire Hall 1. The toys will be distributed on December 22.
Shelbyville Fire Department (SFD)
Signups for the SFD Toy Drive are on Dec. 3-4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. Signups will take place at the National Guard Armory at 2009 S Cannon Blvd. SFD asks that parents/guardians bring photo ID, proof of Bedford County residency, and a birth certificate for each child being signed up.
SFD is asking that new, unwrapped toy donations be brought to City Hall (201 N. Spring St.) or the Recreation Center (220 Tulip Tree Road). The deadline for toy donations is Dec. 12.
