The Coffee County TN Democratic Party (CCDP) will hold a protest at the intersection by the Walgreens in Manchester on Friday, May 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The May Day 2026 Protest: Workers Over Billionaires is a nationwide protest. The CCDP has chosen to organize a protest locally in participation.

The protest is aimed at a perceived disparity in the American system’s treatment of wealthy Americans and American workers.
“American workers now face a crisis of crushing hours, poverty wages, and a system rigged to benefit the wealthy,” the CCDP said. “On May 1st, workers, students, and families across the country are demanding a nation that puts workers over billionaires.”
The CCDP asks protest participants to park at the Coffee County Justice Center, which is located at 300 Hillsboro Blvd. in Manchester. The Walgreens is located at 806 McArthur St., about a five minute walk from the Justice Center.
The CCDP also encouraged Coffee County workers, students, and families to opt out of work, school, and shopping on May 1.
